The District participates in the Public Employees' Retirement System
(CALPERS). The District’s formula is 2% at 55, for example: an employee making $2000.00 per month with 20 years of service and 55 years old would receive 40% of their monthly pay or $800.00 per month. The benefit becomes effective on the first day of work, and the District pays the total cost. Under the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act (PEPRA) effective January 1, 2013, new members will be provided the 2% at 62 retirement formula with an employee contribution of 6.25% of the annual salary.
Social Security Plan
The employee’s part of the Social Security plan will be that percentage payment as designated by law or contract.
