NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR THE PURPOSE OF TAKING PUBLIC COMMENT
REGARDING THE TRANSITION FROM AT-LARGE TO DISTRICT-BASED
BOARD MEMBER ELECTIONS PURSUANT TO ELECTIONS CODE
SECTION 11010 AND GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 34886
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 6:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the Board of Directors of the West Valley Water District will hold a second public hearing in the Board Meeting Room located at 855 West Base Line Road, Rialto, California, for the purpose of taking public comment regarding the transition from At-Large to District-Based Board Member Elections pursuant to Elections Code Section 11010 and Government Code Section 34886. At this second public hearing, the public is invited to provide input regarding the composition of the districts. The Board of Directors previously adopted a resolution of intention on May 17, 2018 to initiate procedures for a transition from At-Large to District-Based Board Member Elections and held a first public hearing to take public comment on July 13, 2018.
This hearing scheduled for July 26, 2018 is the second of several hearings which will take place concerning this matter. All interested parties are invited to attend this public hearing and to express opinions or submit information. If you challenge this matter in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the West Valley Water District at, or prior to, the public hearing.
