Board of Directors Appoints Chief Financial Officer
RIALTO, CALIF- West Valley Water District is pleased to announce the appointment of Shamindra Manbahal as Chief Financial Officer, approved by the Board of Directors at its last Board of Directors Meeting.
Mr. Manbahal comes to WVWD with a skillful background knowledge in finance in local government agencies, serving as Director of Finance and Assistant Financial Services Director, and most recently serving as Interim Finance Director for Cities through MV Cheng & Associates, a municipal staffing firm. Mr. Manbahal has also worked for the County of Los Angeles as an internal auditor. Prior to joining County and Local Governmental agencies, Mr. Manbahal worked in the private sector and served as a Controller for a manufacturing company in Southern California.
On his recent appointment Mr. Manbahal stated, “I am honored to have been entrusted by the Board of Directors to serve as WVWD Chief Financial Officer”. “I’m looking forward to serving the Board of Directors and the ratepayers of the District.”
“I want to personally welcome Shamindra to West Valley Water District” stated President Dr. Michael Taylor. He added, “I am looking forward to him leading our finance department in ensuring we bring safe, high quality water at a reliable rate to our customers and achieving the District’s future financial goals”
As the CFO Mr. Manbahal will be responsible for overseeing the Districts annual operating and capital improvement budgets. Mr. Manbahal will oversee the financial management and policies of the District.
“His extensive knowledge in finance both in the public and private sector, will be a valuable asset to the Board of Directors, management and the ratepayers, I am excited that he has joined our team and look forward to working with him,” stated Vice President Kyle Crowther.
Mr. Manbahal has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University Northridge and a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Mr. Manbahal is also a part time instructor at the UCLA Extension lecturing on topics such as auditing, accounting and business management courses. He is married and has two grown children.
