RIALTO, Calif - West Valley Water District (WVWD) is proud to announce that it has been honored with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the 3rd consecutive year. This prestigious award not only recognizes the District's outstanding efforts in preparing its fiscal year 2023 budget book but also underscores its commitment to transparency and financial responsibility.

The GFOA, representing public finance officials across the United States and Canada, established the Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards program in 1984 to promote excellence in budgeting and acknowledge governments that meet program criteria. To achieve this recognition, budget documents must serve as comprehensive policy documents, financial plans, operational guides, and communication tools.

"West Valley Water District is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of transparency in our financial practices”, said WVWD President Greg Young. "This recognition is a testament to the team’s collective efforts and reinforces our agency's ongoing commitment to fiscal responsibility as we continue to excel in financial management."

WVWD’s commitment to financial excellence was further demonstrated last year when we received the GFOA's prestigious Triple Crown award. With this latest achievement, the District remains on course to continue its tradition of excellence in financial responsibility and reporting.

“It’s an honor to work with such a talented and dedicated team," said WVWD Chief Financial Officer William Fox." Receiving this award speaks to the hard work and dedication of our finance team in ensuring that our budgetary process reflects our commitment to accountability."
