Accounting
Accounting manages financial reports, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, the annual budget, investments and cash management procedures. The department conducts its financial operations in accordance with industry best practices and is also responsible for ensuring WVWD is in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Accounting is not only responsible for general accounting and budgeting, but also develops WVWD accounting-related policies with responsibility and transparency in mind. In recognition of the accounting department’s outstanding investment policy, the California Municipal Treasurers Association awarded WVWD its Investment Policy Certification. This award is earned through a rigorous certification process in which investment policies are graded on ethics, internal controls and reporting standards. The Investment Policy Certification reflects WVWD’s never-ending efforts to become a model for financial accountability and transparency.
